The Barrett-Jackson 40th anniversary tour continued in sunny West Palm Beach Florida, a few weekends ago during their 9th annual Palm Beach sale. Superformance, Hillbank East and Gulf Coast Motor Works were all there, with Todd, Deborah, Lance, Tony and Dan on hand to field questions and take orders from the throngs of people packing the booths throughout the event.
Folks couldn't seem to get enough of the MKIII and GT40 models, especially that hot new “Coyote Cobra” with its Ford Performance Racing Coyote 5.0-liter, 412-hp crate engine. Bow-tie fans weren't left out either as the new Corvette Grand Sport was also on hand. Seeing Cobras and Grand Sports side-by-side is a thrilling experience for any lover of iconic American race cars.
For lovers of things a bit more exotic, the Barrett-Jackson 40th Anniversary Perana Z-one supercar was featured in the Showcase Pavilion along with Barrett-Jackson's most valuable auction offerings.
Top sale for the event was a black 1957 De Soto Adventurer automatic convertible that sold for a very strong $247,500.00. One of our favorites that finished in the top ten was a 1966 Shelby GT350 2-door fastback that is listed in the registry as S1066. It sold for $162,800.00.
The Barrett-Jackson 40th Anniversary tour continues in May with the second annual Orange County auction, held right in our backyard in Costa Mesa, California. Last year's inaugural event was a lot of fun for everyone involved and we can't wait to see what this year's event will bring. Be sure to stop by and say hello if you make it out there.
